Jackson Agency's founder, Tiauna Jackson, holds a place in history as the first Black woman elected to the Board of Directors of the Association of Talent Agents, the trade association that houses the most elite talent agencies in the country.
She earned the seat the hard way. Recruited to the ATA in 2020, she volunteered to co-chair the association's Racial Equity Task Force, where she worked to open doors for Black candidates and address diversity across the major guilds. When she ran for the board, she placed fifth in a field of nineteen candidates for twelve seats, elected by her fellow agency owners, and served as the only Black woman on the board for the 2022 to 2024 term.
Jackson built her standing from the ground up. She founded Jackson Agency in 2014 after other agencies turned her away, taught herself the business, and grew the agency into a Writers Guild of America and Directors Guild of America franchise representing talent across the country and abroad.
Representation matters in the rooms where deals get made. Jackson keeps showing up in those rooms and holding the door open behind her.
